Trip to Korea! DINFAC 2011
Australian International Performing Arts High School (AIPAH) students Sheridan Green Yr 11, Bethany Skinner Yr 11, Anita Matanic Yr 10 and Kyomi Muraoka Yr 9 were awarded 1st prize for their ‘scary’ short film ‘Shadows’ in the High School category at DINFAC in Korea on July 30th. Their film was one of the judging panel and audience favourite!
DINFAC is a 6 day filmmaking and acting camp run each year at the end of July in South Korea at DIMA (Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts).
There were 103 students who attended DINFAC this year from Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia. 25 short films were made with 3 Korean films awarded 1st, 2nd and highly commended; and from the 24 International attending students 1 university level and 1 high school level films were awarded 1st place.
The Australian girls had an amazing learning adventure. Not only did they have the opportunity to learn how to make a 5 min short film on the latest equipment in an inspiring location they also had the chance to experience Seoul on a memorable day tour and Korean culture.
DIMA’s generous organisation of DINFAC is a worthy life-time experience for all students. Highly recommended!
AIPAH commends our students’ achievements and there positive, well received contribution and representation of our school and Australia. WELL DONE GIRLS!
